Hello Fellow
Trail Scouts! Welcome to your
home on the World Wide Web. We hope you will show up here
regularly, whenever you're not out on the trails having fun. We're John and Mike,
your chief Trail Scouts. Along with our former partner Leff, we're
the guys who dreamed up the idea of the Hatfield-McCoy Trails, and we're
the determined bull dogs who have (along with help from a whole lot
of other people) made the vision a reality. It took more than
ten years to get the Hatfield-McCoy up and running, but we think it was
well worth the effort. It gives you the best place to ride trails
in the whole country. Of course the
Hatfield-McCoy isn't done yet. We envision at least 2,000 miles of
trail covering a multi-county region, with trailhead centers in many of
the surrounding communities. The good people at the Hatfield-McCoy
Regional Recreation Authority are busy expanding the trails as quickly
as they can to achieve that ultimate goal. Meanwhile, your
chief Trail Scouts have been busy trying to get the same idea adopted in
Eastern Kentucky. We're having some considerable success with that
project using the same concept that makes the Hatfield-McCoy trails
possible, and we're about to start working in southwestern Virginia.
When we're done with our efforts, you'll be able to enjoy an extensive
trails network across three states in the beautiful Appalachian
Mountains. After that, who knows? Maybe we need
to extend the Hatfield-McCoy concept up to Maine and down to Georgia.
So we're not done yet. Not by a long shot. We want you to know
how much we appreciate your patience and support as the process of
developing these trails continues. We sincerely hope that you
enjoy these trails that so many people have labored for so long to
establish. Please recognize
that we are no longer involved in the management of the Hatfield-McCoy.
That responsibility is now in the capable hands of the staff of the
Hatfield-McCoy Regional Recreation Authority. You can contact them
through their website, www.TrailsHeaven.com.
If you have comments or questions about the Hatfield-McCoy, it's best to
direct them to the Hatfield-McCoy professional staff. If you have comments
or questions about our work in expanding the Hatfield-McCoy trails
concept into other states, you can reach us at the e-mail address below. |
